Christmas Porch

I try to decorate as inexpensively as possible for holidays, so usually I will revamp or re-purpose something I already own or find.

I have these great inexpensive metal lanterns which I use year round. I filled them with ornaments and snow flakes, the ceder branches were hung and lit with twinkle lights and of course I decorated my little silk trees.

The little carved snowman have a merry place to sit. I smile every time I walk up my snowy walk.

Spooky Halloween Smiles

My homemade Halloween decorations were a blast this year. The clearance at my neighborhood party store was great. I shopped smart then vamped them up by painting them to look old and moldy. The web was made from of cheese cloth cut and ripped to look old and tattered.

The entrance was made into a bat cave using black butchers paper for the drips and bats. I had so much fun.

This year I will build up my grave yard and bat cave a little more. Maybe a few more dead things hanging around.

Light those candles. Bring out the fangs and the candy. Spooky night is here...

Floral Fun

I love fresh flowers and love to make arrangements with them. This is something I am no expert at but am working on getting better. Practicing is fun.

A Tasty Treat.

I was asked by my sister-in-law to create a cake for their mom's 60th birthday anniversary.

I fiddled with a few different ideas and finally settled on my favorite.

I am very proud of this Tasty Treat.

The Vanilla pound cake is filled with a french vanilla marshmallow filling with Fresh Strawberries, and a ganache Frosting.. I used Scrabble tiles for the boarders, (His mom loved Scrabble and was very good at it.) using a small spatula I swirled the ganache to look like roses and stripes.

This project was a lot of fun and it tasted as amazing as it looked.

P.S. Don't leave your cake unattended. I slipped from the room for just an instant and while gone my three year old ate the entire top layer of frosting. Hmmmm....Chocolate overdose anyone?

Vintage Paper Creations

Paper, paper and more paper...I can't seem to get enough of the amazing papers that are available. Wonderful colors and vintage patterns are a must for my kind of style.

I have been doing lots of paper projects lately. Making cards is my currant obsession. I took a class and learned many cool new techniques. How to make paper flowers and manipulating ribbons. It has been a blast.

Who knew tearing old paper could look so fun. Most people would just line the bird cage with it.

The opener.

I love to fiddle around with a lot of different artistic ventures so I also have fun sharing and learning from others ideas.

These posts are of my different projects finished and hope to do soon. I hope everyone will enjoy seeing some of the fun things I have worked on.
